Emerging Technology Services
At Methodologic we are dedicated to researching with new technologies as they come available. We build prototypes and demo applications using alpha and beta versions of new tools and software on new platforms, pushing the products to its limits. We test its acceptance, reliability and usefulness.
Due to such passion for emerging technology, we stay ahead of our competition in adaptation of "acceptable" new technology and are able to provide reliable solutions based on it.
Methodologic has been working with Speech technology and Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology for the last few years and have created innumerable demo applications. Some of it are listed below.
Speech Technology Services:
Speech is one of the most natural forms of communication, so it should come as no surprise that speech recognition technology is having a dramatic impact on the self-service market, and the call center in general.
Network-based speech recognition software listens to and recognizes spoken words in its preprogrammed vocabulary, acting upon commands to complete a customer query. This is much different than the dictation software you bought on sale that allows you to speak your emails. For instance, network-based speech recognition requires its own computer in order to operate, as it takes a great deal of processing power to understand both customers in New York and LA, much less Alberta and Quebec. Notably, continuing improvements in processor speed are creating exciting ongoing developments in the speech recognition industry.
Most frequently, network-based speech recognition technology is used to gain access to applications and data within an enterprise or service provider’s IT infrastructure, whether they be call center databases, employee productivity applications, or web databases. Although it has many uses, currently the most compelling use for network-based speech recognition is creating a more cost-effective, user-friendly telephony interface in a contact center environment, to include automating processes that could not be fully handled by touchtone IVR.
At Methodologic, we have identified the importance of Speech technology and how it will impact the customer "self help" paradigm and will drive revenues and profitability.

Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) Technology Explained
What is RFID?
Radio frequency identification, or RFID, is a generic term for technologies that use radio waves to automatically identify individual items. There are several methods of identifying objects using RFID, but the most common is to store a serial number that identifies a product, and perhaps other information, on a microchip that is attached to an antenna (the chip and the antenna together are called an RFID transponder or an RFID tag). The antenna enables the chip to transmit the identification information to a reader. The reader converts the radio waves returned from the RFID tag into a form that can then be passed on to computers that can make use of it.
How does an RFID system work?
The system consists of a tag, which is made up of a microchip with a coiled antenna, and an interrogator or reader with an antenna. The reader sends out electromagnetic waves that form a magnetic field when they "couple" with the antenna on the RFID tag. A passive RFID tag draws power from this magnetic field and uses it to power the microchip’s circuits. The chip then modulates the waves that the tag sends back to the reader and the reader converts the new waves into digital data.
Methodologic has taken the lead and created RFID based prototype applications for ready deployment as pilot project. The following are the details:
RFID Smart Card based Employee Attendance System (with integrated Biometric control) -- we have created a prototype of the above system as a cost-effective, integrated, scalable solution (including h/w and s/w) for companies with employee strength of over 25 at a single office location. Our target market is for clients with 100+ employees. The system is highly scalable and can work for organizations with 1000 + employees.
Electronic Article Surveillance – we have demo application based on RFID, acousto-magnetic anti-theft technology for anti-pilferage measures targeted retail stores dealing with exclusive high value items that are placed in open displays.
Loyalty-cum-privilege cards – RFID enabled smart card based loyalty cards that will identify the card holder the moment he/she enters the store. We have complete solutions – the cards, the necessary h/w and the s/w to manage and maintain the loyalty program. Our solution is designed to accommodate cross-promotional schemes.
The design of this solutions being extremely modular in approach, we are able to integrate our solution with any pre-existing s/w that the client might already be running. There is no need to replace existing solution to enjoy the benefit of our offering. The integration with existing application is offered as a value-added service.
